Fatherhood is ...

... stifling a laugh at 30,000 feet when the kid pees on Mom's lap.

... resisting the urge to run to the kid's rescue as she screams herself to sleep in a strange, new bedroom.

    Grandmahood is....realizing at 8:00 on July 3rd as one sits at O'Hare that your granddaughter is likely in the same city somewhere and getting a little teary because you can't wait to see her.
