Storm warning

We got our first real taste of the "terrible twos" tonight. About an hour of yelling and screaming and crying and pushing and floor pounding and more screaming and yelling and crying. We haven't seen a tantrum like this since – well, since we were around someone else's kids.

All that was missing was "I hate you! I wish I'd never been born!" before stomping off to her room and slamming the door. (Luckily, I think we have a few years before that kicks in.)

And all this just because she didn't want to eat dinner. She wanted a cereal bar. And mean old mom and dad said she had to eat ravioli. Poor kid. And then it took both of us to get her pajamas on her. (More kicking and screaming and ... ) Several time outs later she was so worn out that she could barely fight us when we declared it bedtime.

I guess that counts as one victory for the evening.

Kaylee today: Fine ... until about an hour ago.

Ok, this is a Gma/middle school principal pep talk!

WAY TO GO! HANG IN THERE! THIS TOO SHALL PASS! RESPONSIBLE CHILDREN COME FROM PARENTS WHO LOVE THEM AND EXPECT THEM TO COMPLY WITH REASONABLE REQUESTS! YOU'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING! YOU'LL SURVIVE! SHE'LL SURVIVE! SHE'LL LOVE YOU FOR YOUR HIGH EXPECTATIONS!

Anything else I can do? Just let me know.

(love you all)

Hopefully you didn't give her cereal bars!! Mean Aunt Jessica wold have done the same thing...I say this is dinner and that is final. There are good days and bad - the good out weigh the bad, somehow...

You'll get through it and so will she.
