First night ...

Wasn't horrible. Rae fed Kaylee and put her down around 10 and we went to bed as well.

I got up twice during the night to help keep the kid awake while she ate (she gets two or three swallows in and then passes out unless you wake her up.) Rae got up one time without me – and passed out on the couch for a couple of hours.

Today we're trying to keep her awake during the day in hopes that she'll sleep more tonite. Wishful thinking I'm sure.

She doesn't smile yet (babies don't have control of those muscles for a while) but you can see a hint of what's to come. When you grab her attention her eyes light up. When she starts to smile on top of that, I realise it's going to be hard to tell her no.

Ever.

Man – am I in trouble later.
